The Blueprint for Potential: Inside a Holistic Support Services Residential Home

A residential home should be more than a safe building; it should be a blueprint for a young person’s potential. Our mission at Holistic Support Services (HSS) is clear: Inspiring independence, nurturing self-expression, and breaking down barriers.

We provide a safe, warm, and nurturing environment that supports young people to achieve their full potential in all areas of their lives.

Daily Life as a Learning Experience

In our homes—Ashdown, Delamere, Woodlands, and Epping House—daily life is intentionally designed to be therapeutic. We ensure that daily living experiences and activities are meaningful and memorable.

This means staff are always looking for opportunities to encourage growth:

  • Independence Skills: Supporting a young person to plan, shop for, and cook a full meal, or managing their personal budget under guidance.
  • Self-Expression: Encouraging input on home decor, planning activities based on their hobbies, or facilitating creative projects that help them communicate their feelings.
  • Autonomy: Involving the young person in their care planning and decision-making, ensuring they are afforded choices about their support.

Our high standard of care and accommodation provides the stable base from which this growth can flourish.

Building Ties and Access to the Community

A holistic approach means preparing the young person for life beyond residential care. We actively work to maintain or develop the young person’s ties and access to the community. This includes supporting attendance at educational placements, joining local clubs, and developing essential social skills in a variety of real-world settings.

The staff are knowledgeable in all areas of SEND and are trained to proactively break down the barriers that prevent young people from participating in the wider community.

We welcome visits and partnership discussions. Contact us today to learn more about how our homes provide the ideal environment for your young person’s growth.
